Golan is an Israeli born, New York City based painter, printer and
jewelry designer. In her studiio Michal creates hand worked
jewelry pieces which combine the look of the antique with contemporary
fashion sensibility. her unusual style and technique and
meticulous attention to detail distinguish these ornately jeweled

Queen Victoria. Influences from Middle Eastern art, particularly
Mosaic styles, are also apparent in her lavish decoration of surfaces

Elvie Zell |
|
Elvie
Zell first began enameling in 1976 after graduating from Cleveland State
University. Her enamel on copper art work is completely hand made
with great attention to detail. Think of it as a miniature
painting, made with copper instead of canvas and glass instead of paint.
Designs are cut from metal by hand, and the enamel is drawn and painted
on in many separate applications. It is a time consuming and
exacting process. Pieces are fired at least 6 times, and they must
be filed and cleaned with each firing. The result - a unique,
finely crafted work of art! |
