Patrick Meyer Studio -
Patrick
Meyer made his debut in 1985 as a jewelry designer, after completing his
studies in art and design at the "Ecole des Beaux Arts de Paris".
In 1990, after much
work and experience within the fashion industry, Patrick, still residing
in Paris, expanded his work with a new line of decorative and functional
objects. His modern and pure designs were handmade in silver,
brass, and nickel.
In the late 90's,
Patrick was at a turning point in his career and life and decided to
relocate to San Francisco, CA. It was here that he successfully
established himself as a metal sculptor and designer specializing in
functional and decorative cast pewter accessories and objects for the
home, office, kitchen and bath.
Patrick draws his
inspiration from modern and primitive . He likes to work with high
grade lead-free pewter, a soft metal that is easily forged, folded
and cast. |

The Velvet Hammer Ltd -
Roberta
Elliott of the Velvet Hammer Ltd. is a blacksmithing artist from Cobden,
Illinois. Her love for gardening reflects in her organic style
with a nature theme. Her primary material is mild steel. She
particularly enjoys using gas pipe.
The versatility of
mild steel allows it to take the bold shapes usually associated with her
iron work, as well as the soft feminine lines for which Roberta strives.
Her work often contains botanical references and she can create images
that evoke continuing growth.
The top and bottom of
her bud vases (shown to the right) are flared and rippled with a cross
pein hammer to give a floral appearance. The top neck of the vase
is sized to a test tube, which is included, so that fresh glowers can be
used in the vase. Beautiful, functional....we think so! |

Leandra Drumm -
is the
daughter of Don and Lisa Drumm (above). Leandra says her work is
inspired by the everyday people and things that surround her. What
a delightful and fanciful world she must live in! The whimsical
figures and symbols decorating her pewter collections illustrate her
wonderful world of stars, whirligigs and sky-rockets. Along with a
menagerie of odd-shaped animals and hyperactive men, women and children
blessed with far-out faces and figures, Leandra creates a unique world
best described as "fantasy in motion". |
